Not so “injured” Jasprit Bumrah attends Coldplay concert in hometown Ahmedabad

Jasprit Bumrah and Coldplay have a strong connection it turns out!

India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah made a surprise appearance at Coldplay’s second concert in Ahmedabad on Sunday, January 26. While Coldplay mesmerised the audience at the Narendra Modi Stadium with their chart-topping hits, it was Bumrah’s presence that stole the spotlight among cricket afficianados. On the field, all was not well in his last appearance for the nation but he looks pumped up for a musical night in his hometown.

Jasprit Bumrah-Coldplay connection

Adding to the spectacle, Coldplay honoured Bumrah during their show. His Test jersey was displayed on stage, a tribute to the cricketer’s immense contribution to Indian cricket. Chris Martin, the band’s lead singer, has frequently expressed admiration for Bumrah, previously hailing him as “number one in the world.” This isn’t the first time Coldplay has celebrated Bumrah—Chris Martin had previously hyped the pacer during their Mumbai concerts, even showcasing a clip of Bumrah dismissing England’s Ollie Pope.

Bumrah, recovering from back spasms sustained during the Sydney Test against Australia, was seen enjoying the British band’s electrifying performance in his hometown. His appearance comes amid growing speculation about his fitness ahead of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. Despite limited updates from the BCCI’s medical team, Bumrah’s lively presence at the concert suggested he might not be as sidelined as previously thought.
