Most inflammatory statements made by former Indian Cricketer Yograj Singh

Yograj Singh, known for his bizarre statements, has recently faced significant backlash for his controversial remarks.

Yograj Singh has made a significant contribution to cricket, not just through his own career but by training India’s match-winner for the 2011 ODI World Cup Yuvraj Singh as mentor and father. However, that does not give him the authority to make controversial statements about anyone.

Once a respected cricketer, Yograj Singh has now become a controversial figure known for his outrageous remarks. His interviews are often filled with nonsensical and absurd comments about MS Dhoni, women, and Kapil Dev. Therefore, today, we have compiled a few of his most controversial statements.

Yograj Singh’s controversial statements

Never give power to a woman

Yograj showcased his misogynistic side with a statement where he said that women should not be given power as they will destroy the household.

“Never give power to a woman. Give them love, respect, and honour, Because they will destroy everything around them if they have power. I have seen mothers and ladies, when you give them power, they hold everything for themselves.”

MS Dhoni ruined Yuvraj Singh’s career

Yograj revealed that he believes MS Dhoni ruined Yuvraj Singh’s career and stated that he will never forgive him for it.

“I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at himself in the mirror. He is a very prominent cricketer; I salute him. But what he did to my son is unforgivable. Everything is coming to light now, and it can never be forgiven. That man has ruined my son’s life, who could have played for four to five more years.”

Wanted to Kill Kapil Dev

When Kapil Dev dropped him, the former cricketer wanted to kill him.

“When Kapil Dev became captain of India, North Zone, and Haryana, he dropped me for no reason. I told my wife that I would teach this bloody man a lesson. I took my pistol out and went to Kapil’s house in Sector 9. I abused him a dozen times. I told him because of you I have lost a friend, and what you have done, you will pay for it. I told him, ‘I want to put a bullet through your head, but I am not doing it because you have a very pious mother, who is standing here.

Disregarded Hindi Language

In an absurd statement, he said that the Hindi language sounds like a woman speaking and, therefore, a Sikh should speak in Punjabi.

“Mujhe to Hindi language aise lagti hai jaise koi aurat bol rahi ho (To me, the Hindi language feels like a woman is speaking). Jab aurat bolti hai, to bahut acha lagta hai; jab mard Hindi bolta hai, to aisa lagta hai ke kya bol raha hai ye kon aadmi hai. Mujhe wo difference lagta hai (When a woman speaks Hindi, it sounds really pleasant, but when a man speaks Hindi, it feels like, ‘What is he saying? Who is this person?’ I sense that difference).”
