A picture of kids holding Rishabh Pant’s picture from an unidentified cricket academy and praying for him has been making the rounds on social media. The 25-year-old cricketer, who was travelling from Delhi to his hometown of Roorkee, narrowly avoided tragedy when his Mercedes Coupe crashed with a road divider near Roorkee and caught fire at around 5.20 am on Friday.
Pant was pulled by a few locals, a Haryana bus driver, and a conductor, who phoned for assistance. Pant had numerous severe injuries and was sent to Max Hospital in Dehradun. Pant’s Mercedes-AMG GLE43 Coupe’s cracked windscreen, according to pilice, allowed him to escape away.
According to a statement from the BCCI, Pant had two cuts to his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, injuries to his right wrist, ankle, and toe, as well as abrasions to his back. The board promised that it will make every effort to be there for Pant and his family, giving them the support and assistance they require at this trying time.
