New Map: Deston
Deston is the largest and tallest map PUBG Battlegrounds has ever seen. While playing a match on the Deston map, players will experience the tall buildings, rolling hills, plains, and dense urban settings.
Deston aims to deliver fun gameplay in realistic battlegrounds, while also challenging players to learn each location of the map. Below is a more detailed look into the new locations of Deston.
- The Swampland – This is the first time when swampland has been created in PUBG Battlegrounds. It is placed on the northern part of the Deston map. The area is filled with new experiences for players.
- Central Plains – The central plains is the Lodge POI and it’s the biggest building ever made in the game. Players can hot-drop into the Lodge and hunt down some hunters.
- Concert District – Krafton brings a concert district for party lovers in the game. The Paintball Arena will provide opportunities for short, medium, and long-distance fights with enemies.
- Western Highlands – Western Highlands area offers players to test their sniper and marksman rifle skills. The area has minimal plants with a broad level of visibility.
New Movement Mechanics, Tactical Gear, and Weapons
Ascender – Krafton brings a new movement mechanic to the game. Ascender is a motorized pulley that can be used to seamlessly traverse from the ground to the top of a building and back down.
Blue Chip Detector – Krafton brings a new tactical gear in PUBG Battlegrounds. The Blue Chip Detector will help players to detect the location of enemy players within a limited radius.
New Weapons – Deston brings two new weaponsin the game with the Origin 12 and the MP9. The Origin 12 is a slug shotgun with superior accuracy and range. The MP9 is a new SMG that specializes in close-range fights.
