Pakistan Cricket Board: Ramiz Raja has no plans to resign as PCB chairman: REPORT

Ramiz Raja not Resigning: According to sources, Raja is waiting for a message from the new government and will continue to hold the position till then.

GEO News further reported that in case Ramiz Raja resigns from his post, former PCB chairman Najam Sethi’s name will be considered for it.

According to PCB’s constitution, its patron-in-chief (Pakistan’s PM) recommends the chairman’s name to the board of governors, who vote for the candidate.

However, over the years, the PCB chairman changes with a change in the federal government.

In 2018, when Imran Khan made his government, then PCB chairman Najam Sethi was replaced by Ehsan Mani immediately.

ICC Meeting: Ramiz Raja’s proposal for four-nation tournament was rejected by ICC Board

PCB chairman Ramiz Raja’s ambitious proposal of conducting a four-nation tourney comprising India, Australia, England under the aegis of the ICC was unanimously rejected by the all-powerful board on Sunday.

Ramiz had projected revenue of USD 750 million for five years.

“In any case, ICC’s Financial and Commercial Affairs Committee (F&CA) was against this proposal. As we know that the MPA (Members Participation Agreement) doesn’t allow any member nation to host more than tri-nation, organizing four-nation every year would have in any case devalued ICC’s own marquee events,” a board member was quoted by PTI.

Another sensitive issue which board members were talking in hushed tones at the meeting was whether Raja will remain PCB chairman?

Not those assertions removed, Ramiz is likely to once again pursure his 4 NATION PROPOSAL.
