SRH beat GT Highlights: Washington Sundar Injured: Sunrisers Hyderabad have been dealt a major blow with Washington Sundar all set to miss out on at least a week of action after his injury on Monday.
The Indian all-rounder hurt his bowling hand while fielding, splitting his webbing between his thumb and the fingers and did not take the field for the rest of the game. Sundar only bowled three overs against Gujarat Titans and left the field.
Aiden Markram bowled one to finish off his spell, further signaling the severity of his injury.
Speaking in his press conference after the game, Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Tom Moody confirmed that Sundar was looking at a minimum of 1-2 weeks on the sidelines. He said, “Washington Sundar has torn a webbing in his right hand. We are going to monitor that over the next two-three days, and hopefully, it is not going to be a significant blow. I’d imagine it is going to take probably a week or so to settle down.”

Washington Sundar looked in good form this season, chipping in handily with the bat lower down the order, while being a wicket-taking option in the powerplay. His absence could lead to SRH having to tinker their combination, with Shreyas Gopal and Jagadeesha Sucith being the options on the bench.
Sunrisers Hyderabad were also left concerned after Rahul Tripathi walked off retired hurt while batting. Tripathi was seen doing some elaborate stretches as Abhishek and Williamson batted, and was constantly struggling while at the crease, before eventually walking out. Fortunately for SRH, Tom Moody confirmed that the star batsman was suffering with some cramps and there was nothing to worry about.
