The annual badminton tournament began in 2012 as the French International. The name of the tournament was changed to Orleans International in 2015. From 2018, it came to be knows as Orleans Masters and became a BWF Super 100 tournament. This will be the 10th edition of the tournament, which is scheduled to be played from 29th March to 3rd April 2022.

The total prize money for the tournament is US$140,000. Singles winners will get $10,500, while Doubles champions will get a total of $11,060.

Men’s Singles 

  • 2019 World Championship bronze medallist Sai Praneeth is the first seed in the men’s singles.
  • He has been granted a bye in the first round and will begin his campaign only from the second round.
  • Apart from him, no other Indian has been seeded in the singles. Other Indians in the men’s singles includes Rahul Yadav Chittaboina, who is the in the same quarter as that of Sai Praneeth.
  • Priyanshu Rajawat and Shubhankar Dey will face each other in the first round. So will Kaushal Dharmer and Chirag Sen.
  • Mithun Manjunath and Kartikey Kumar too will face each other in the opening round. Siril Verma will face France’s Arnaud Merkle in the first round. While, Kiran George will face Netherland’s Joran Kweekel.

Men’s Doubles

  • In men’s doubles, Krishna Prasad Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Panjala have been seeded sixth in the tournament. They will take on another Indian duo PS Ravikrishna and Sankar Prasad Udaykumar in the opening round.
  • Sanyam Shukla and Arun George are the other Indian pair in this quarter and they will face France’s unseeded Julien Maio and Eloi Adam.
  • Shyam Prasad & S Sunjith, Ishaan Bhatnagar & K Sai Praneeth, Vasanthakumar Ranganatha & Ashith Surya are the other Indian pairs in the men’s doubles.

  • In the Women’s Singles, Ashmita Chaliha, who reached the second round of the Swiss Open will play Indonesia’s Putri Kusuma Wardani in the first round.
  • Malavika Bansod will take on seventh seeded France’s Qi Xuefei in the first round.
  • Meanwhile, Aakarshi Kashyap will take on Indonesia’s Yulia Susanto. Anupama Upadhyay will face Belgium’s fifth seeded Lianne Tan in the opening fixture.

Women’s Doubles

  • In the Women’s doubles, Rutaparna Panda and Swethaparna Panda will face top seed Stoeva sisters, who won the Swiss Open title.
  • The other Indian pairs include Haritha Harinarayanan & Ashna Roy, Simran Singhi & Ritika Thaker, K Ashwini Bhat & Shikha Gautam.

Mixed Doubles

  • In the mixed doubles, Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisho Crasto are seeded seventh. They will face fellow compatriots Ashith Surya & Swethaparna Panda in first round.
  • HV Nithin and Rutuparna Panda are the other Indian pair who are in the same quarter. They will face a qualifier in the first round.
