Krunal Pandya and Co will don a new and special Green and Maroon jersey in their upcoming clash against Kolkata Knight Rides on 20th May. Mr Sanjeev Goenka who is the owner for the Lucknow outfits is also a major stakeholder for Kolkata football giants Mohun Bagan. “Mohun Bagan is an institution, and we are paying tribute to the century old institution this Saturday when we will play against KKR. We will Don the iconic Green and Maroon of Mohun Bagan this Saturday,” LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka said in his press conference.

Lucknow Super Giants usually wear a blue (Dark and Light blue) in their home and away games in the Indian Premier League. But this sudden move can encourage a lot of fans to side with the visitors in against KKR. When MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, thousands of Kolkata fans turned up in the stadium wearing yellow CSK jersey to pay homage to MS Dhoni who is likely to play his last IPL campaign this season.

Now that both the clubs come under the same parent company (Super Giants Group) it will no surprise that the Lucknow side wear the coveted and special jersey of the Mariners when they play at the City of Joy next Saturday.
As far as the IPL Points Table go, Lucknow Super Giants are placed 4th on the table after having acquired 13 points from 12 games. LSG will need to win their remaining 2 games to seal their spot in the IPL Playoffs.
