Khelo India Youth Games 2023 – KIYG 2023 Latest Medal TALLY: The fifth edition of the Khelo India Youth Games has come to a close in Madhya Pradesh. Maharashtra has topped the medals tally after the Day 12 of action on 11th February 2023. Maharashtra collected a total of 161 medals. It includes 56 gold medals, 55 silver medals and 50 bronze medals. Haryana and the host city Madhya Pradesh take second and third spots respectively. Manipur weightlifter M. Martina Devi, broke three national youth records enroute to gold in the Girls 81kg+ category. She won the Girls 81kg+ category with a total lift of 199kg. Not only was her total lift a national youth record, but so were her final efforts in Snatch (88kg) and Clean and Jerk (111kg). In-fact, Martina broke a total of seven national youth records enroute to gold.
On Day 8 Sonam from Madhya Pradesh created a new National Record in 2000m Steeplechase. She clocked a timing of 6.45.71 minutes.
On Day 7 too in Shotput, Siddharth Chaudhary of Rajasthan threw at a distance of 21.04m and won the gold medal. In the process, he broke the previous national record of 20.99m held by Dipender Dabas.
More than 6,000 athletes from all around the country are in action in 27 different sporting events during the course of the tournament. The tournament will run for 13 days till 11th February 2023. The multi-sport event was kickstarted with an aim to provide young athletes a platform to exhibit their talents.

Players under the age of 22 can participate in the Khelo India Youth Games. Out of the 27 sporting disciplines, for the first time, sports like kayaking, canoeing, canoe slalom and fencing will be part of the Khelo India Youth Games.
The matches are being played across eight different sites in Madhya Pradesh. The eight cities in MP are Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat and Khargone (Maheshwar) – while the cycling event alone is scheduled to take place in Delhi
