Jamahal was naturally delighted to have won the light heavyweight title. In response, “Sweet Dreams” shared a photo of himself napping alongside his title on Instagram. After Argentina won the FIFA WORLD CUP, Lionel Messi made a similar post with the trophy, which went viral. When Hill was informed of the coincidence, he said, “Never saw this before, to be honest, but I understand totally.”

With his triumph at UFC 283, Jamahal becomes the first-ever graduate of the Contender Series to take home a UFC championship. Hill defeated Alexander Poppeck via knockout in Season 3 of Dana White’s Contender Series to secure a UFC contract.
