Disney+ Hotstar REMOVES all Indian Super League content as Viacom18 deal looms large…

Star Network has had the broadcasting rights to the event since its debut. Viacom 18, which owns the same corporation as FSDL and is growing popularity, wishes to buy the broadcasting rights on its own.

However, Star Sports has suffered as a result of the current economic strategy. Due to falling ratings over the last few seasons, Star may quit when their contract ends. Viacom18, the Reliance-backed broadcasting behemoth, is ready to strike. Furthermore, the FSDL is a Reliance subsidiary.

ISL Broadcasting RIGHTS: STAR SPORTS to EXIT, Reliance-backed Viacom18 ready to TAKEOVER ISL Media Rights from NEXT SEASON: Follow LIVE Updates

To put it simply, neither clubs nor event planners profit. Keeping ISL broadcasting rights off the market worsens the problem. IPL, Pro Kabaddi, and other rights are becoming increasingly expensive. Domestic sports assets in India are on a tear as more firms, like Amazon, enter the broadcasting market.

Sports18 is the best way to handle the company’s current broadcasting challenges. Because it has the potential to grow into a more significant broadcasting partner. When paired with its online streaming service (Voot and/or Jio TV), it has the potential to have a significant impact on the whole Indian football industry. It will function as a launching pad for future ISL growth.
