Although Habas did not comment after the match, he surely brought up the topic ahead of the Jamshedpur FC game. The Spaniard highlighted how he was embarrassed with some of the refereeing decisions made against his team.
Speaking about his team’s loss against Mumbai City FC, Habas did not want to bring up too many excuses as he feels that the game is already in the past. He stated, “It is already in the past and I don’t like to look for excuses. Looking for excuses is not good. I think Mumbai (City) were better than us. But the performance of the referee was embarrassing.”
The veteran tactician pinpointed the questionable decisions made by the match referee. He began, “They scored early in the game, the second goal was a handball and the third goal was a foul in my book. The referee showed (Deepak) Tangri a red card but no red card for (Mourtada) Fall. The fourth goal was again an offside. But I will repeat myself that Mumbai City were better than us.”
Keeping all the controversies from the last game aside, Habas has shown great respect towards their next opponents Jamshedpur FC and their head coach Owen Coyle. The Men of Steel are unbeaten in the current campaign so it will be tough test for the Mariners.
“I think Coyle is a serious coach and I respect him a lot. The team is as serious as their coach. I think the match will be very competitive,” Habas added regarding Jamshedpur and coach Owen Coyle.
He also revealed that Tiri is recovering very well and maybe in the matchday squad for the Mariners against Jamshedpur. However only time will tell when the Spanish defender will take the field for the Green and Maroons.
Speaking about any special player for Jamshedpur FC, Habas expressed how he does not like to single out individual performances and likes to see them as a team. However, he highlighted that the match against Jamshedpur FC will be tough for his men.
“I don’t like to talk about individual players, special players of the opponent. I think they are a good side and I feel they have good players in the centre midfield aswell in (Alexander) Lima and they also have good Indian players. It will be a very difficult game as they are a very competitive team, “ the ATK Mohun Bagan tactician concluded.
