It was a poor season for both Mumbai Indians and Rohit Sharma as the team has stayed at the bottom of the table for majority of the season. Rohit too endured a poor season with the bat and looked to end the season with a flourish having scored 48 runs in his previous game.
However against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, Rohit failed to get off the mark even after facing nine deliveries in his innings. He particularly struggled against left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed as he couldn’t score a single run in six deliveries he played in the 3rd over.
His misery on the day came to an end in the sixth over of the innings as he went for a shot but hit it straight to Shardul Thakur and departed for 2 runs, facing 13 balls.
This is Rohit’s 22nd consecutive innings without a fifty. With this, he has now equalled his longest streak of 22 consecutive matches without a fifty in 2009 for Deccan Chargers.
