IPL 2022 – IPL Matches Wankhede Stadium: It seems the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) matches at Wankhede Stadium are no more WELCOMED. According to a report, the iconic IN-HOUSE Garware Club inside the Premises of the Wankhede Stadium is not too pleased with so many matches at the venue. IPL Matches Wankhede Stadium: The Indian Express has reported that Due to the IPL Matches, a lot of restrictions are imposed by Police authorities for entry of the Club Members to the stadium. This according to the report has created huge amount of HEART-BURN.
“Due to the IPL Matches, a lot of restrictions are imposed by Police authorities for entry of the Members and other bona fide visitors, vendors to the Club House.
“Our members are put to a lot of inconvenience and greater financial loss to the Club House,” Garware Club vice-president Raj Purohit wrote on April 26 according to the Indian Express.

IPL Matches Wankhede Stadium: The Wankhede Stadium is scheduled to host 20 IPL matches. The number was increased further as after Covid-19, 1 more match was added to the venue.
13 of these matches have already been hosted with 8 more left.
Why IPL 2022 Matches at the Wankhede Stadium in Garware Club is making Members Upset?
- Due to IPL cricket matches, members have to undergo police frisking, stand outside the gate and deal with security personnel to allow them entry.
- The GUESTS are not allowed at the Club House facilities during the IPL 2022 matches.
- The Parking at the Venue has become a huge issue for the members.
Will the matches move out of Wankhede Stadium? It is unlikely at this stage, matches are moved out of the stadium.
The BCCI has planned their schedules after taking local Cricket body & the Maharashtra Government in confidence. There is no chance that matches can be shifted out of the venue.
