IPL 2022: Lucknow Super Giants Slammed, CHECK Why? Actually the Lucknow franchise had hosted a contest on Twitter. They had urged the fans earlier this month to come up a with a name for the team.
The franchise in the promotion had declared that one of the suggested name will be announced as the name of LUCKNOW franchise.
Over the next three weeks, the post had received more than 7500 comments and 815 quote tweets, most comprising a suggestion.
What left fans disappointed was that the RP Sanjiv Goenka group, who previously owned the presently-defunct IPL franchise Rising Pune Supergiants, went with a similar name – instead of the suggestions by the fans.
