Chasing a target just 116, it was never going to get difficult and it did not. David Warner and Prithvi Shaw had their eyes on improving the net run rate. They got going straight away. After thumping PBKS pace attack for 81 runs in the powerplay, the highest this season, the scoring rate never dipped.
Even when Prithvi Shaw was removed, David Warner kept going at a brisk pace with Sarfaraz Khan anchoring from the other end.

In the end, David Warner remained unbeaten on 60. However, he said his daughters weren’t going to be happy about the three sixty+ scores. They want their daddy to score a big hundred like Jos Buttler.

“My kids just want to know why I cannot get a hundred like Jos Buttler does. It’s great that the little ones keep going around the world keep watching this game,” David Warner said after the match.

However, that performance from Delhi Capitals was top-notch considering the team hardly had a practice in the last four days. The entire squad was in quarantine with Mitchell Marsh and Tim Seifert testing positive besides four members of the franchise. The team arrived at the stadium only half an hour before the toss at 7 PM and managed to produce a brilliant all-round display.
“I think the bowlers did a fantastic job and made it easier for us. We had to go hard in the powerplay during the chase. It was a different surface compared to the last night, but credit to our bowlers. Was grateful that we were able to get out of our rooms and play tonight,” David Warner said.
