IPL 2022 Dates – IPL Opener in Chennai: The 15th season of Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) will kick-off in Chennai on April 2nd. The Boad of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Sec Jay Shah had already announced last week that the IPL 2022 will be played in India. IPL 2022 Dates: IPL 15 set to start on April 2nd, defending champions CSK to host opening game in Chennai

IPL 2022 Dates – IPL Opener in Chennai: As per a report by Cricbuzz, the board is yet to finalize the fixtures but it has been conveyed to all franchises, state associations and other stakeholders that in all likelihood IPL 2022 will start in Chennai on April 2nd. The report further says that the Finals of IPL 2022 will be played either on June 4th or 5th.

  • As against 60 games – the league, in its 15th edition, will have 10 teams and 74 matchess.

IPL 2022: Champions Chennai Super Kings to return to Chepauk for IPL 2022 opener on April 2 – Report

Earlier during an event in Chennai, it was declared by the BCCI secretary Jay Shah that the entire IPL 15 will be played in India.

“I know you all are waiting to see the CSK play at Chepauk. Well, the moment is not very far. The 15th season of the IPL will take place in India and it will be more exciting than ever with two new teams joining. We have a mega auction coming up, so it will be interesting to see what the new combinations look like,” the BCCI secretary had said at the function.

It is worth noting that the last two editions of IPL, i.e IPL 2020 & half season of IPL 2021 were hosted in UAE – but this time BCCI is committed to host the entire league season in India.
