Punjab Kings have retained their star player Mayank Sharma for a price of 14 Cr and young speedster Arshdeep Singh for a salary cap of 4 Cr.

1. Star Top Order batting lineup
With Mayank Agarwal already retained, one-half of the Opening pair is also consolidated, and thus all that remains to find a good and experienced overseas opener. The most suitable candidates in such situations are Quinton de Kock and David Warner. Middle-order batters who can finish off an innings are extremely important in the 20-20 format of the game, so Punjab will eager to acquire some fiery middle-order batters.

3. Powerful Bowling Unit
Punjab has already invested in a young 23-year-old pacer in the form of Arshdeep Singh. And thus all that remains is at least 4 specialized bowlers. Two spinners are absolutely needed along with a star overseas pacer. A perfect combination of Indian and overseas players with a unique blend of youth and experienced can be deadly for any opposition.
