IPL 2021 Points Table: KKR through to playoffs, joins DC, CSK & RCB, MI ruled OUT; Follow Latest updates- Mumbai Indians on Friday officially crashed out of the IPL 2021 playoffs. They failed to wrap up SRH for just 65 runs even after posting a massive run on the scorecard. Mumbai Indians posted 235/9 in the allotted 20 overs but SRH also went on to score 193 runs in the high-scoring affair. While the batsmen delivered, the bowling department could not bowl a miraculous spell to send SRH packing to their lowest total. This is the first time since 2018 that 5 times champions Mumbai Indians have been ruled out of the IPL season ahead of playoffs. KKR made it to the knockouts after a decent NRR.

IPL 2021 Points Table: RCB stays 3rd despite win against DC in the final group-stage match- In another match, Srikar Bharat and Glenn Maxwell played unbeaten knocks of 78 and 51 respectively as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals by seven wickets. Delhi Capitals finished at the top spot in the points table and now the side will square off against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Qualifier 1 on Sunday. On the other hand, RCB finished at the third spot and Virat Kohli’s team will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Eliminator on Monday.

IPL 2021 Playoffs Race:

  • Mumbai Indians have crashed out of the IPL 2021 playoff owing to a low net-run rate (NRR).
  • Eoin Morgan-led KKR, who had won just 2 matches in the first phase of IPL 2021, have qualified for the knockout stages
  • Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals sits on top of the points table.
  • MS Dhoni’s CSK are placed second while RCB are placed third in the IPL 2021 Points Table. CSK, in particular, managed to make it to the playoff for the 11th time in 12 seasons.
  • CSK are chasing their 4th IPL title while KKR are in search of their 3rd IPL title. The two teams last won in 2018 and 2014 respectively.
  • Delhi Capitals and RCB are chasing their maiden IPL trophy. Virat Kohli would like to end RCB’s title drought in IPL in his last stint as captain.
  • Rishabh Pant has led DC to the top of the points table in his captaincy debut in IPL 2021.
