IPL 2021: Liam Livingstone & Riyan Parag involve in exchange of words – Rajasthan Royals’ 19-year-old all-rounder Riyan Parag is known to be quirky with his responses. But he had an exchange of words with English batsman Liam Livingstone during RR’s practice in UAE. So much so that Livingstone refused to play under Parag and Sanju Samson had to step in. RR will resume their campaign against Punjab Kings on Tuesday.
It all started when Riyan Parag reached early with the team bus and occupied a particular spot at the training ground and seemed unhappy to share the space with Liam Livingstone.

IPL 2021: Parag: I’m the captain of your side.
Livingstone: Not you. You are captain of me? No please! I refuse to play.
Parag: Tantrums! Tantrums! Tantrums! Just like little kids.
Then skipper Sanju Samson had to intervene. Livingstone asked Samson, “He is my captain now, what’s going on?”

IPL 2021: Parag responded: I came first on the field, I kept my bag here. He came last from the bus and still kept his bag beside me.
Livingstone: No, no. I wasn’t on the bus. I was first here.
Parag: He had the whole space to himself.
Livingstone: You want to be with me? I will look after you.

The exchange of words was mere intra-team banter and not in a negative way. Liam Livingstone and Riyan Parag share a very healthy relationship. But the two never give up on pulling each other’s leg. In a Rajasthan Royals practice, Riyan Parag had reached with the team and occupied a particular spot and seemed unhappy (sarcastically) to share the space with Liam Livingstone.
IPL 2021: Riyan Parag being the teenager of the side is the funniest guy in the side and has a good rapport with all senior cricketers. Ahead of a gruelling month, all small entertainments and light moods will help the team bond well and that could help them put up some good performances on the pitch.
As Rajasthan Royals are aiming for the IPL title after 13 years, these good relationships off the pitch will help them gel well especially after the team’s numerous pull-outs.
Riyan Parag meanwhile has proved time and again that he is one of the guys to look forward to. While he has had ups and downs in performance, if he is consistent, he can do damage to the opponent batters and bowlers alike.
