As a result the onus will fall on Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is going to spearhead India’s pace attack in the UAE. The other slots in the pace department is open. Arshdeep could get the nod and Hardik Pandya will play the role of the third seamer. Ganesh believes Azam will test India bowlers. Yuzvendra Chahal is going to be the trump card in the spinners department.

“Babar is a champion cricketer. He has proved himself in the last couple of years. He is very consistent. Babar is going to Indian bowlers also. That is 100 percent sure. In modern cricket, he is Pakistan’s best and highly rated in world cricket also,” Ganesh told InsideSport.

Irrespective of who features against Pakistan, they need to come up with a solid plan against Babar Azam. The Pakistan batter has been one of the most prolific scores in the last couple of years. More importantly, he has been a central figure in Pakistan cricket with his consistent scores.

In the only T20 match, Babar has played, he scored 66 runs against Australia. He comes into the Asia Cup with three straight half-centuries in recently concluded ODI series against Netherlands.

The match is expected to be cracker of a contest with both the teams have already played in the UAE. If Pakistan have played most of their home matches in UAE, Indian players have been involved in their IPL matches.

“The good thing is that they have both previously played in the IPL in UAE. So they know the conditions and so on. Pakistan also know the conditions know well as they have played more games in UAE,” added Ganesh.
