Q4 Summary: India headed to the final quarter with a slender 3-2 lead and they just had to play out the clock. However, a thrilling quarter ended up with NewZealand equalising. Despite bagging a plethora penalty corners. India failed to convert any. But Kiwis converted from their only 2nd PC as Sean Findlay equalised in the 49th minute to force a shootout.
Q3 Summary: A rather dull quarter to begin with but both sides found the net once each. Kumar Varun (40′-PC) made it 3-1 for India. However, Russell Kane (43′-PC) converted NewZealand’s first penalty corner three minutes later to reduce the deficit.
Q2 Summary: 3 goals were scored in Q2. Lalit Kumar Upadhyay (17′) opened the scoring following a brilliant counter-attack. Soon, India had their 4th penalty corner in Q2 and following a skirmish, Sukhjeet (24′-PC) doubled India’s lead. But Sam Lane (28′) combined well to reduce the deficit.
Q1 Summary: 1st quarter of IND vs NZ Hockey Crossover ended and it’s goalless. Despite making some circle penetrations, India haven’t found the goal. Instead, Kiwis had the best chance in Q1 but Sreejesh came to India’s rescue.
