India vs Australia Hockey: Jermey Hayward scores twice as Australia thrash India 5-1 to win 5 match series 3-1: Watch HIGHLIGHTS

India Hockey Australia Highlights: India trailed 1-2 before today’s game and was hoping to take the series into decider on Sunday. India won the 3rd match by thinnest of the margin by 4-3 win and raised hopes of Indian fans.

At the start of 4th match today, India dominated the proceedings and even got the 1st goal. Dilpreet Singh scored brilliant field goal in 24th minute to give his team 1-0 lead.

But that is where India’s grip on the match ended.

Right before end of 2nd half, 2 BIG lapses in DEFENCE in space of 30 seconds costed India two goals and also the match. Jermey Hayword (28th min) & Jake Wheatton (29th Min) scored back to back goals to put India under tremendous pressure.

Tom Wickham scored 3rd goal for Australia to further compound India’s problems at the start of 3rd QUarter.

The 4th Quaeter was again one sided. As Hayward again scored in 40th minute. Matt Dawson made it beyond doubt for the home team as they got their 5th goal of the match to completely outplay India.

The five-match series between India and Australia are part of preparations for the upcoming Hockey Men’s World Cup. All the matches in this tour have been high-scoring. While hosts Australia clinched 5-4 and 7-4 victories in the first two matches, India made a spirited comeback in the next game as they won 4-3. Manpreet Singh, Abhishek, Shamsher Singh and Akashdeep Singh have scored so far.
