Making a return after a long injury lay-off, Deepak Chahar showcased his full repertoire of skills in a deadly new ball spell during the IND vs ZIM 1st ODI on Thursday. Chahar foxed the Zimbabwean batters with his great control on line and length, using the swinging conditions to good effect.
Chahar bowled a peach to dismiss the in-from Innocent Kaia and followed it up with the dismissals of Tadiwansahse Marumani and Wessely Madhevere. The CSK superstar sent down seven overs in his first spell, showcasing all his injury troubles were well and truly behind him.

The series against Zimbabwe is a huge opportunity for Deepak Chahar as the medium pacer makes a comeback to the India side. Chahar has missed action since February and made a return to the side for the Zimbabwe tour, and has been named as a backup for the Asia Cup. The CSK pacer has the opportunity to force his way back into the reckoning with injuries to Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah in the lead up to the T20 World Cup.
