While it is still early to assess the extent of Rohit Sharma’s injury, there are growing concerns, especially considering that the Indian captain has hurt his back. Hardik Pandya and Deepak Chahar have in recent years suffered injuries and had a long recovery period before they could take the field.
Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid would hope that is not the case, especially with the Asia Cup 2022 later this month. India already faces a question mark with KL Rahul’s fitness and given Virat Kohli’s form, Rohit becomes absolutely essential to the team as a batter and a leader.
