IND vs SL: India’s team for the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka, which will include three T20Is and as many ODIs, was revealed by the BCCI. The majority of the team was selected in the anticipated manner. Hardik Pandya will captain the team in the three T20I matches against the Asian champions as Rohit Sharma is currently out injured.
Rishabh Pant’s exclusion came as a big shock. The BCCI, as usual, has not made it clear in its official statement whether the southpaw has been rested or removed from the white-ball team. According to certain reports, Pant has been sidelined from the SL series due to a long-standing pain in his knee.
It is thought that the young player has been instructed to report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA), in Bengaluru, on January 3 for 15 days in order to rehab on his knee and get back to full fitness before the upcoming New Zealand and Australia series on home soil. Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul fill in for Pant as India’s wicketkeepers in ODI matches, while Ishan and Sanju Samson are the two wicketkeepers in the team for T20I matches.
