Jadeja Bumrah Injury: India Squad SL Series: Despite recovering from their respective injuries, BCCI won’t rush back Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja. “Both Bumrah and Jadeja are crucial to our plans against Australia. We have paid the price once and don’t want to rush them back again. They had fitness tests at the NCA and both cleared the tests. But we still felt they need some more time,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport earlier.

Bumrah Jadeja Special Training: Instead, under Nitin Patel’s observation, Bumrah and Jadeja are going through a series of tests and training sessions to evaluate match workload. For Jadeja, he has been made to bowl, bat and field to understand where he stands in terms of full fitness. In case of Bumrah, he has already begun bowling at full tilt.

While Jasprit Bumrah’s return was touch and go, Ravindra Jadeja was confirmed to return. But BCCI intervened. Jadeja was previously named in the squad for the Bangladesh tour.

India’s Injury List:

  • Deepak Chahar (Hamstring)
  • Praqsidh Krishna (Back)
  • Mohammad Shami (Shoulder)
  • Ravindra Jadeja (Knee – fit now)
  • Jasprit Bumrah (Back – fit now)
  • Rohit Sharma (Thumb)
  • Rishabh Pant (Knee)

Rishabh Pant Injury – Rishabh Pant is not unfit. Instead, the selectors have dropped him from both white-ball squads. With the Australia series coming up in February, the BCCI has asked him to return to the NCA and work on two-week knee-strengthening rehab.

Since wicketkeepers have to crouch a lot, the BCCI medical team has recommended a strengthening and conditioning session for Pant as he will play a massive role in Border Gavaskar Trophy. His S&C session has been slotted for early New Year (Jan 3-Jan 15). Hence he is not picked for this series.
