Rilee Rossouw couldn’t get off to the mark in the first two matches in this series as he got out for successive ducks. Under pressure to perform well in the final T20I, the left-hander looked in fine touch right from the word go. He came into bat after the Proteas lost lost the wicket of Temba Bavuma in the fifth over of the innings.
He started off his innings by hitting two successive boundaries off Umesh Yadav soon after he came in to the crease. He continued his aggressive knock hitting sixes at will as he and Quinton de Kock usurped South Africa’s run rate punishing the Indian bowlers. He got to his fifty by hitting a huge six off Axar Patel in the 14th over of the innings.

Rossouw continued to deal in sixes and boundaries as by the 19th over, he surpassed his previous best of 96 not out that he scored against England last month. He reached his maiden century in T20Is in the final over of the innings by hitting a single and remained at the non-strikers end until the end of the innings. His brilliant knock comprised 7 fours and 8 sixes.
With his power-hitting, he has given a perfect audition ahead of the IPL At the recently concluded SA20 auction, he stirred a bidding war with the franchises and was finally picked up by the Delhi Capitals-owned Pretoria Capitals for 6.9 million Rands (USD 390,000 approx), becoming the second costliest player at the auction.
Rossouw who has played in almost all the T20 leagues across the world has so far featured only in five matches in the IPL representing RCB during the 2014-15 edition of the league.
