Taking to his Twitter handle, Australian opener & ‘Man of the Tournament’ in 2021 T20 WC Dawid Warner said both teams played tough cricket. Warner further said that he can’t wait for the 2nd Test in Mumbai as well as the start of Ashes.

India’s wicketkeeper batter and recently turned commentator Dinesh Karthik also took to the micro-blogging website and termed it as ‘the perfect Test match’. Karthik also showered praises on the performances of debutant Shreyas Iyer and R Ashwin.

While Shreyas Iyer became the first Indian to hit a hundred and a fifty on Test debut, R Ashwin surpassed Indian veteran Harbhajan Singh’s record of 417 wickets in Test cricket. Ashwin has now become the third most wicket-taker for India in Test Cricket.
