It was Suryakumar’s first game since opting out of the IPL 2022 midway through injury. The middle-order dynamite also missed the five-match series against South Africa. The MI star is considered a vital part of the Indian set up, but the team management would hope that he can recapture his form soon.

Fortunately for India, Deepak Hooda and Hardik Pandya ensured that they chased down the target rather comfortably. Hooda remained unbeaten on 47 after being promoted to the top of the order. Captain Hardik Pandya meanwhile scored 24 of just 12 deliveries.
