“India are already leading the Test series and I am sure we will win this series. We want to win this series by winning the fifth Test, not by drawing it. The memories of winning in Australia are still fresh and I want my team to repeat those heroics in England too,” Siraj told Times Of India.
Siraj has been good in the extended ongoing test series against England. In the previous four games, he managed to scalp 14 wickets from 4 games. In the 2020-21 test series away in Australia, Siraj shone in his debut series where he bagged 13 wickets in just 3 games.

“I am really happy that I have managed to perform well for India. My ultimate aim is to take as many wickets for my team as possible and take them to wins. I want to perform well in overseas matches. I know I have been performing well at home but I get a lot of happiness and confidence when I do well on foreign soil. I did well in Australia. When I got a chance in England, I performed there too. So, I am preparing myself for every condition, situation and format,” Siraj added.
India currently leads the series 2-1 while the fifth test has been rescheduled after a covid outbreak in the Indian squad last year. It is believed that the Indian pacers will have to play a key role if India plans on winning the test match against England at Edgbaston.

India’s last Test series win against England away came in 2007. However, the England squad has been flying high after making a complete revamp in their structure. Following a humiliating drubbing against Australia in Ashes 2022, England is now coached by Brendan McCullum and captained by Ben Stokes who defeated New Zealand 3-0 in the past week.
India has 6 pacers in the India squad ahead of the India squad with the likes of Shardul Thakur, Mohd Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd Siraj, Umesh Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna. The India squad will be banking on these pacers to wreak havoc on the opposition.
“There is healthy competition within the team. We have variety in our seam attack. Shami bhai, Umesh bhai, Ishant bhai, Bumrah and I – we all have different styles and have different variations. I am learning and will keep on improving,” Siraj further told Times Of India.
