Notably, this will be the very first instance in Test cricket wherein a player will be seen wearing a helmet cam, and Sky Sports have already got the necessary approval from both the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

In a statement, the British broadcaster has claimed that this innovation will “give viewers a unique view of the action out in the middle.” Meanwhile, though new in Test cricket, Sky Sports did try something similar in The Hundred, where Trent Rockets’ wicketkeeper Tom Moores wore a camera on his helmet.

Meanwhile, England have announced their playing XI for the rescheduled fifth Test against India, starting Friday at Edgbaston. They have opted to go ahead with only one spinner Jack Leach for the all-important Edgbaston Test.

Ben Foakes has been ruled out of the fifth Test and Sam Billings will keep wickets in his absence. However, veteran pacer James Anderson is fit and will be seen in action.
