Will Rohit Sharma play 1st T20? After having tested negative for COVID-19, he did his 1st practice session on Sunday and then again on Monday. The reports coming in from England suggests Rohit is feeling OK but not completely perfect.
On Monday Rohit did almost 45Mins net session and some fielding drills. But there is still a doubt whether he can last full 4 hours in a high intensity match. It may not be a surprise if the team management decides against risking Rohit for the 1st T20.
He also have to undergo mandatory cardiovascular tests. These tests will determine whether he is fit to play in the 1st T20 vs England in Southampton on July 7 or not.
Rohit missed out on playing the rescheduled fifth Test against England as he tested positive on the second day of the four-day warm-up game against Leicestershire. The Indian team was desperate to play Rohit but he tested positive thrice before the game day and hence India had a new captain in Jasprit Bumrah.
