ICC T20 Rankings: SuryaKumar Yadav to touch 900 RATING Points for 1st TIME, Ajay Jadeja says ‘SKY better than AB’: Follow IND vs SL LIVE
SuryaKumar Yadav on SKY: Swashbuckling India batter Suryakumar Yadav has been earing plaudits since his sensational performances in the T20 World Cup last year. He carried his hot form into 2023 when he scored 112 runs in the 3rd T20I against Sri Lanka at Rajkot, helping India win the series 2-1 on Saturday.
Ajay Jadeja in recent interaction with Cricbuzz has called SKY now better than AB in terms of consistency.
“With AB de Villiers we saw, I mean he was one of the finest we have seen, no doubt. His (Suryakumar Yadav) consistency is a little bit more and I think what he adds with AB is that there’s a little more power to his game.
What he adds is the wrist work which AB didn’t have. So the angles you were talking about, they were because of the wrists. both sides his wrists work better than AB also,” he said.
What Jadeja has said – that shows in Surya’s BATTING Charts also. SKY not only has better average than AB and others but his Strike RATE is better than any other T20 batsman in the WORLD.

ICC T20 Rankings – SKY finished unbeaten on 112* off just 51 deliveries. He smashed nine sixes and seven fours in his match-winning knock in Rajkot. This is the second-fastest ton in men’s T20Is by an Indian batter following Rohit Sharma’s 35-ball effort against the same opposition country back in 2017.
“He has been surprising everyone and making everyone know that batting is very easy,” India’s captain Hardik Pandya said of his star player after the match.
“If I am a bowler, I will be disheartened with the shots he plays. He has played blinder after blinder.”
Surya himself revealed secret of his batting.
“It is really important to put pressure on yourself when you are preparing for the game. The more pressure you put, the better you can play. There is a lot of hard work involved. Some quality practice sessions are also involved,” Suryakumar said after his blazing knock.
“Most of the time, I try to find the gap, and use the field to my advantage. Coach Rahul Dravid lets me enjoy, and tells me to express myself.”
