Riot Games and VALORANT today revealed Drift, the newest Team Deathmatch map launching on December 5, 2023. Inspired by Thailand and its floating markets, Drift features a long range mid that has several paths for players to weave in and out of the space for more dynamic engagements. Players can expect a lot of aim duels to be had while quickly swapping lanes via an overhead rope they can jump to.

Joey Simas, Lead Map Designer, “For gameplay we wanted to create a long range space that players would enjoy fighting over. There’s lots of aim duels to be had but there’s also a rope overhead that players can jump up to and quickly swap lanes. Artistically we took inspiration from Thailand and its floating markets. Drift takes our approach to TDM maps and carves out more isolated lanes allowing for more predictable fights. It also features a long range mid that has several paths. This will let you weave in and out of the space for more dynamic engagements.”
Team Deathmatch is VALORANT’s 5v5 game mode that pits players against an enemy team in custom maps. In Team Deathmatch, players will get to choose their loadout for each stage. Players need to choose it in start of the match or anytime they’re in the spawn room. Weapon spawners will also be placed around the map as well as recovery and ultimate orbs. With four timed stages, no econ, and players respawning every 1.5 seconds. The key to victory is simple: the first team to get 100 kills wins.
