With the increase of hype among youngsters regarding gaming be it pc or mobile, the gaming scenario gets an additional boost each time any of their loving superstars spills their attachment towards it. Henry Cavill, the Hollywood actor and a global icon, famous for his captivating portrayal of DCEU’s Man of Steel, is starring in Netflix’s highly anticipated fantasy-thriller series – The Witcher season 2. The Witcher is a series of fantasy action role-playing games. The player controls Geralt of Rivia, one of the few surviving witchers having supernatural powers who is also a travelling monster slayer for hire, mutated and trained from a young age to kill dangerous beasts.
Henry Cavill Red Dead Redemption
Currently, the British actor is up for its promotions as the series hits the streaming platform on December 17. In one of his recent interviews, Cavill elaborated on his keen interest in gaming and how his love for the Witcher character of the game led him to chase down the lead role in the Netflix series. This also shaped his role as Geralt in the series. Cavil opened up “I’ve always been a gamer. My dad introduced me to PC gaming when I was very young and I have memories of playing games with my brother at the dining table,”.
During the Witcher’s red carpet event held in Madrid, when asked which game adaptation Cavil would like Netflix to go for next, he acknowledged that there are many games to choose from but if he were to select one, it would be Red Dead Redemption 2. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a 2018 action-adventure game by Rockstar Games. It is the heroic tale of Arthur Morgan and the notorious Van der Linde gang, on the run at the dawn of the modern age.

Now, it’s unlikely that we are getting a film adaptation of the Red Dead Redemption series any time soon. But with stars like him expressing their desires to take on roles based on video games, it indeed gives fans hope for million-dollar franchise expansions across all entertainment platforms. This in turn will inspire developers to expand beyond the source materials and create interesting spin-offs and conquer a larger share of the market. Given the success in recent video game adaptations, we can expect some huge announcements ahead.
