CSK needed 13 runs off the final over with Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja in the middle and Mohit Sharma delivering the pressure over. However, the veteran pacer bowled brilliant Yorkers to bring the equation down to 10 from 2 balls.
While it looked improbable for CSK, Ravindra Jadeja showed why he is considered one of the best all-rounders in the world as he hit a six and a boundary in the final two deliveries to snatch a win from GT.
The whole CSK dugout erupted in joy and ran towards Ravindra Jadeja, who took off like Imran Tahir after hitting the winning runs. From Mitchell Santner to Deepak Chahar, every player gave a warm hug to the hero of the match. But the special embrace came from captain MS Dhoni who lifted the all-rounder and gave him a bear hug.
Ambati Rayudu, who played a crucial knock in his final IPL match, termed it as a ‘fairytale finish’.
“It’s a fairytale finish. I couldn’t have asked for more. I’m fortunate to have played in really great sides. I can smile for the rest of my life. All the hard work I’ve done in the last 30 years, I’m happy I got to finish on this note. I would really like to thank my family, my father. Without them this wouldn’t have been possible”

CSK’s hero Jadeja dedicated his side’s fifth title win to his skipper MSD.
“I’d like to dedicate this win to a special member of the CSK side, MS Dhoni. It feels amazing to win my fifth title in front of my home crowd. I’m from Gujarat, and it’s a special feeling”

Earlier, Sai Sudharsan top-scored with 96, while Wriddhiman Saha scored a crucial half-century as Gujarat Titans posted 214/4 in 20 overs. Matheesha Pathirana was the pick of the bowlers for CSK with two wickets.
