The Singapore GP is one of the toughest races on the Formula 1 calendar. It is long and physically exhausting. Moreover, it is always chaotic. The tight nature of the track has always given us a safety car. Sebastian Vettel, the most successful driver at this track, is set to return to the Formula 1 paddock. This year, rain is expected during the entire weekend and this may spice things up. Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, who were already optimistic for the Singapore GP, will hope to stop Max Verstappen this weekend.
Rain Adds Chaos
The Singapore GP was the first-ever night race in Formula 1. It was won by Fernando Alonso in controversial circumstances, but the track instantly proved to be a hit. It had a penchant for chaos and each edition has delivered a safety car. This year, there is rain in the air to add even more chaos.
In 2017, when there was rain, we had one of the most dramatic starts to a Formula 1 race ever. The top 3 crashed, leaving an open goal for Lewis Hamilton. There was rain at the Singapore GP last year too. Max Verstappen struggled in the race after starting down the order due to mechanical troubles in qualifying.

Last year, even the troubled W13 proved to be extremely handy at the Singapore GP. Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton are hoping for a similar showing this year as they try to stop Max Verstappen. The Dutchman is the favourite for taking his 11th win in a row.

Even Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes will need some divine intervention to stop Max Verstappen. However, on a track that is notoriously difficult to pass, getting a good qualifying might be beneficial.
