Max Verstappen has thoroughly dominated the 2023 Formula 1 season. He has won his third Formula 1 championship with 5 races to go. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton will be itching to get 2nd place. But how do the Formula 1 Driver Standings look behind them? Let’s take a look.

Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen has already been crowned the 2023 Formula 1 champion. He has been on top since Bahrain and has won all but 3 races. He is going to break a lot of Formula 1 records this season in his Red Bull.

Battle for 2nd

Sergio Perez has had a very inconsistent year. However, the pace of the Red Bull has ensured he is still 33 points clear of Lewis Hamilton in 3rd with just 6 races to go. Fernando Alonso looked good early on but stands 4th despite 7 podiums.

Battle Behind

The two Ferrari drivers are 5th and 6th in the Formula 1 Driver Standings, Carlos Sainz just 15 points ahead. The two British drivers Lando Norris and George Russell find themselves 7th and 8th on equal points (115).

The Mid-Pack

Oscar Piastri sits 9th, ahead of Lance Stroll who is having a terrible Formula 1 season. Both Alpine drivers follow them, with Pierre Gasly ahead of Esteban Ocon. Alexander Albon finds himself in an unbelievable 13th position, having scored all of Williams’ points so far.

The Back-Markers

Nico Hulkenberg has put in brilliant qualifying performances but they don’t reflect in the Formula 1 Driver Standings. He is 14th, with both Alfa Romeo drivers behind him; Valtteri Bottas ahead of Zhou Guanyu.

Yuki Tsunoda is the lead Alpha Tauri, with Kevin Magnussen behind on the same points. Behind them is the impressive debutant Liam Lawson. Logan Sargeant is in 20th, the only full-time driver who hasn’t scored this season.

Nyck de Vries still holds the 21st spot, with the injured Daniel Ricciardo placed 22nd and last in the Formula 1 Driver Standings.
