Christian Horner has every right to be chuffed about the Las Vegas GP. His team had an incredible race. Max Verstappen secured another win, while Sergio Perez continued his newfound form and finished on the podium. In doing so, he even secured the first ever 1-2 in the Formula 1 drivers’ championship for Red Bull. However, the Red Bull boss had some requests for Formula 1 after the race, as reported by Crash.

A Truly Taxing Schedule

Fans often forget that Formula 1 is not just about the faces we see. Apart from the team principals and drivers, there are hundreds of people who make the race possible. The Las Vegas GP was especially taxing on these people due to its schedule.

The Las Vegas GP started at 10 pm Local Time. That is really late. However, FP2 and Qualifying were scheduled to start from midnight. Due to the delays in FP1, FP2 actually started at 2:30 am. Therefore, teams were not happy with Formula 1.

The Las Vegas GP was a very good result for Red Bull. However, Christian Horner has some requests for Formula 1 after the race.

“A Great Event”

Like the diplomat he is, Christian Horner started by praising the Las Vegas GP. He said, “It’s been a big event, and, like in anything, there’ll be a bit of a debrief to go through what was good and what needs a bit of polishing.”

“When you look at the interest there has been in this race, it has been phenomenal. As a first event, of course, there are going to be many lessons to learn.”

“Brutal for the team”

Speaking on behalf of Red Bull, Christian Horner unleashed some criticism of the Las Vegas GP schedule.

He said, “I think one of the things we look at is the running schedule because it’s been brutal for the team, and all the men and women behind the scenes. I think everybody’s leaving Vegas slightly f****d.”

“You’re never going to keep every television audience totally happy. This is an American race, so if you run at eight o’clock in the evening, or something like that, it would just be a bit more comfortable for all.”
