Lance Stroll apologizes to the FIA for his behavior at the Qatar GP

Lance Stroll is not having a good Formula 1 season. He is miles off of his Aston Martin teammate Fernando Alonso. After the summer break, his form has nosedived. He has failed to make it out of Q1 in the last 4 races, including the Qatar GP. However, it was his actions after the Qatar GP qualifying that caught the world’s attention. Dejected by another Q1 exit, he flung his steering wheel off his car and then pushed his trainer, Henry Howe. The FIA then investigated his actions and forced him to apologize.

Guilty of a Misdemeanour

The FIA took a look at the actions of Lance Stroll in the Aston Martin garage and found him in violation of their code of conduct for Formula 1 drivers. Their statement read, “The FIA Compliance Officer is in discussion with Lance Stroll, in relation to several incidents that may have contravened FIA rules, policies, and procedures during the Qatar Grand Prix.”

Lance Stroll Apologizes

Lance Stroll has sent a written apology letter to the FIA Compliance Officer. The officer has also issued an official warning to him for his Qatar GP antics. The Aston Martin man will be happy to get out of this with just a warning.

FIA Statement after Apology

The FIA released a statement after Lance Stroll’s apology. The statement read, “The compliance officer has noted this apology and issued a written warning, reminding Lance of his responsibilities as a competitor bound by the FIA Code of Ethics and other FIA ethical and conduct guidelines set forth by the sporting regulations.”

“The FIA maintains a zero-tolerance stance against misconduct and condemns any actions that may lead to physical harassment.”

The pressure keeps mounting on Lance Stroll, who has failed to score a single point since #F1 returned from its summer break five races ago ❌

Frustration Growing

Lance Stroll’s actions demonstrate just how frustrated he is. Aston Martin has given him a great car, and he hasn’t been able to capitalize on it. Formula 1 is considered a meritocracy and Lance Stroll is clearly falling short.
