The team of Mercedes are on the verge of admitting about the ‘ no side-pods concept ‘ might land up being the ground of its failure. Hamilton admitted about suffering setbacks during the Pre season test in Bahrain.
He stated about the car having balance limitations. The car has been falling behind since the pre testing. it did pick up the pace on the last day, but the team is again facing issues.
The concern Is real as even the team accepts that they are a long way of the guys in front. They knew that from the test but it’s a big gap. “We are just on the wrong track. There was progress through last year, but the gap wasn’t as big as it is now. “ said Hamilton.

When questioned about being able to fill in the gap, he replied “ yes ! “Even though the car seemed a bit of since the pre testing in Bahrain, Hamilton says that the team has been working long hours to fix the issues. Technical director Mike Elliott admits the basic car concept may need to be re-thought.
Elliott also stated that the team did “a lot of work” last year and over the winter looking at other types of solutions other than the no-sidepod concept to make the car a better version of itself. Elliot also revealed about a different bodywork that is incoming. He assured, It won’t be the same as other people’s but it’ll be differently.
