This will be a one-off race for Kimi as he thought that this is the right time in terms of keeping a balance between his personal and professional life. He said, “We had more talks about it, how would it work, where the race would be, and all sorts of other things. There’s a lot of things involved, and it all made sense for me.”

“It’s one race, so it made sense for all of us as a family. I always enjoyed it when I had my few races [in the United States]. Hopefully, we have a good race and good fun. Obviously, it’s a new car and I’ve never been at the track. But I’m sure we can figure it out,” Raikkonen added.

Trackhouse owner Justin Marks ‘sold the plan well’ to Kimi when he visited the Finn for talks at his home in Switzerland. The Finn called time on his Formula 1 career toward the finish of 2021, one which had begun as far as possible back in 2001 with Sauber, finishing with that equivalent group under its ongoing Alfa Romeo name.

Also, when Raikkonen left Formula 1, it was unclear whether this was an exit from hustling totally or on the other hand assuming he would contend once more. The 42-year-old was quick to get away from the hectic schedule and invest energy with his loved ones.

Nonetheless, that was not the last time we will see Kimi on a race track. On August 21 he will be in NASCAR Cup Series, competing for Trackhouse Racing as a component of the street course race at Watkins Glen.

Raikkonen will go to the United States for a test in the Chevrolet vehicle before he gets in the driver’s seat of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for the Watkins Glen occasion, where his partners will be Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain. He will also go through the simulator in order to get prepped for the event.

The Finn driver did make two appearances in NASCAR back in 2011 when he was out from Formula 1 on a sabbatical break. Raikkonen says he has no further plans after this, so it will be generally about enjoying this race.
