Australian GP Live Streaming, F1: Formula 1 2023 LIVE: As the drivers completed their last practise laps in preparation for qualifying later today, Max Verstappen took the lead during an eventful third practise session in Melbourne. The championship leader finished ahead of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon.

Earlier, Red Bull continued their impressive performance in the Australian Grand Prix with a dominant display in the first practice session. After their back-to-back one-two finishes in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez once again finished first and second in the session, respectively. World Champion, Verstappen, was in imperious form as he set the pace with a time of 1m 18.790s. He was half a second clear of his teammate Perez.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton delivered a late improvement to finish third. Fernando Alonso took fourth for Aston Martin, followed by the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

However, the FP2 belonged to the veteran Alonso who clocked a lap of 1m 18.887s, finishing ahead of Charles Leclerc (0.445s) and Max Verstappen (0.615s) before rain halted the session.

Mercedes’ George Russell took P4, 0.785s, while Sainz finished in P5, 0.808s behind Alonso.

Eyes will be on McLaren’s Oscar Piastri as well who is set to race on his home turf for the first time, and F1 fans are excited to see how he will fare against the more experienced drivers.

He finished in the top ten in both of the first two races of the season, and he will be looking to improve on that performance in front of his home crowd.

When was the track built?

The tract was built in 1993. A new DRS zone has been introduced this season, bringing the total up to four, which is guaranteed to make the street circuit one of the fastest ever. The current fastest lap at Albert Park is held by Mercedes’s Lewis Hamilton, who put in a lap time of 1.20.486 in 2019 during Q3.
