F1 Pre-season Testing: Charles Leclerc tops Day 2: Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc topped the timesheet on Day 2 of the pre-season testing in Barcelona. Charles Leclerc topped the timesheet with a time of 1m 19.689s. He drove for 79 laps and finished P1. Then it was the turn of AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly who finished P2. He clocked a time of 1m 19.918s and completed 147 laps, the most by any driver.

Daniel Ricciardo of McLaren finished P3 with a time of 1m 20.288s. He completed 126 laps, the second-most by any driver on the grid. George Russell, the new driver for Mercedes this year finished at P4. He clocked a time of 1m 20.537s and drove for 66 laps.

Carlos Sainz of Ferrari managed P5 and clocked a time of 1m 20.546. Sainz drove around the circuit and completed 71 laps. Then came the veteran Sebastian Vettel who drives for Aston Martin clocked a time of 1m 20.784s. He completed 74 laps of the circuit.

Sergio Perez of Red Bull brought out the first red flag of the day. He had halted on the track itself. He clocked a time of 1m 21.430s and completed 78 laps. Nikita Mazepin of Haas was the second driver who brought the red flag. He had a damaged fuel pump midway through the afternoon. It caused a 15-minute red flag but he was back on the track after an hour after his accident.

Mazepin finished P8 and clocked a time of 1m 21.512s. He completed 42 laps around the circuit. Alex Albon who drives for Williams finished P9. He clocked a time of 1m 21.531s and completed 47 laps.

The rookie of this season, Guanyu Zhou surprisingly finished P10 and clocked a time of 1m 21.885s. He drives for the Alfa Romeo which had suffered some reliability issues on Day 1. Guanyu completed 71 laps.

Nicholas Latifi of Williams managed a P11 finish and clocked a time of 1m 21.894s. Latifi who was the center of attraction after his accident in the season finale last year managed 61 laps. Lance Stroll, the driver for Aston Martin finished P12 and clocked a time of 1m 21.920s. Stroll completed 55 laps around the circuit.

Nicholas Latifi managed to finish P11 on Day 2

P13 belonged to Mick Schumacher, who drives for Haas. He clocked a time of 1m 21.949s and completed 66 laps. Esteban Ocon who drives for Alpine managed a P14 finish and clocked a time of 1m 22.164s. Ocon completed 125 laps, the third most by any driver.

The experienced Valtteri Bottas couldn’t do much as he finished P15 and clocked a time of 1m 22.288s. He completed just 21 laps, the least number of laps by any driver. The big surprise of the day was Lewis Hamilton who finished last (P16). He clocked a time of 1m 22.562s and completed just 40 laps.
