Shutting his rivals down, Toto Wolff said “And team principals trying to manipulate what is being said in order to keep the competitive advantage and trying to play political games when the FIA tries to come up with a quick solution to at least put the cars in a better solution is disingenuous.”

“We have long-term effects that we can’t even judge but at any time, this is a safety risk and coming up with little manipulations in the background or Chinese whispers or briefing the drivers [on what to say] is just pitiful,” Wolff further added.
Meanwhile, Red Bull’s Christian Horner has hit back at Wolff for trying to persuade FIA, as he feels Mercedes should sort their own problems out. “Sort your own house out,” said a frustrated Horner.
Meanwhile, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen will start this race on pole after his fantastic drive in tricky conditions on Saturday. Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz will line up in P2 and P3 respectively, with Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton in P4.
