F1 Boss DENIES any plans to Step in and SLOW Red Bull Down amidst predictability scare

In just 7 rounds of racing so far, Red Bull star Max Verstappen leads the championship with a mammoth 170 points and five wins to his name.

Formula 1: In the 2023 season so far, Red Bull has had a dream run for any F1 team. Apart from winning every race in the season, the men from Milton Keynes have been in a class of their own. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez have dominated the track so far, leading a significant number of the total laps done this season. However, the races so far have been pretty boring for the Red Bull duo at the front, primarily Max Verstappen.

In just 7 rounds of racing so far, the Dutchman leads the championship with a mammoth 170 points and five wins to his name. Moreover, Red Bull holds an even massive lead over other competitors in the constructors’ standings. The downside to this unprecedented dominance of Red Bull is the increasing predictability of the sport and lesser competitiveness. Many expect this can put quite a dent in the reputation and viewership of the sport.

Some even believe if nothing further goes wrong, Red Bull is on its way to winning all the races this season, something that’s totally unprecedented in the sport to date. Meanwhile, teams fighting for other steps of the podium are Aston Martin and Mercedes. The Silver Arrows brought some major changes over the course of the last two weekends, giving them their first double podium finish. Recently, Media asked the F1 boss to step in and bring regulations to favor other teams.

FIA and F1 will not intervene to slow Red Bull down: Stefano Domenicali

F1 Boss Denies Any Plans to Step In and Slow Red Bull Down Amidst Predictability Scares

In Spain, Mercedes put together every upgrade and set every foot right to get their best result this season. However, even after eating up a significant portion of their development budget, Lewis Hamilton crosses the line 23 seconds after Max Verstappen’s RB19. This tells how superior the current Red Bull car is when compared to the best of their competition.

Recently, F1 CEO Domenicali found himself in the midst of answering the impacts of this hegemony of one team on track. Moreover, is there anything that FIA will do to slow Red Bull down and make the grid more competitive? To this, the Italian boss had a rather straightforward answer. “It’s not correct because we cannot be seen as part of manipulation. This is not correct, and this is not fair. I am not [imagining] at all this kind of approach.”

“F1 has been always a sport where there have been cycles, where teams were very dominant and then some others came into the equation. So, I would say our objectives should be – if you take this strategic approach – to make sure that these cycles in the future will be shorter,” said Domenicali.
