‘You need a zero to catch me…’ Ronaldo’s witty reply to Ramos’ post leaves fans in splits

The camaraderie that the duo formed at Los Blancos was evident once again when Ramos made a post about reaching the milestone of 60 million followers on social media

Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo shared an excellent rapport from their time together at Real Madrid. Although they parted ways when Ronaldo left for Juventus in the summer of 2018, the bond still remains strong.

The camaraderie that the duo formed at Los Blancos was evident once again when Ramos made a post about reaching the milestone of 60 million followers on social media.

60 million followers is a significant number for any sportsperson. However, it is still a small number compared to the following Cristiano Ronaldo enjoys.

That is exactly what CR7 told Ramos when the latter put out a post for reaching the milestone.

Ramos on Wednesday posted a picture of himself with the caption, “We started in 2014 and – although it seems impossible – we are now 60 million strong.”

The post attracted a lot of attention, with fans congratulating the defender for the milestone. CR7 joined the conversation too, and won over the internet with his witty reply.

Ronaldo simply said, “You need a zero to catch me,” followed with a laughing emoji. The Al Nassr striker was referring to his own following on Instagram, which is in the north of 600 million.

Ramos, widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the game’s history, is now a free agent. The 37-year-old recently saw out his two-year stint at French giants Paris Saint-Germain, with whom he won consecutive Ligue 1 titles. He is also linked with a move to Saudi, although nothing concrete is yet to be formalised.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo, one of the best players to grace the beautiful game, joined Saudi Pro League (SPL) side Al-Nassr as a free agent in December last year.

Ronaldo’s form in Saudi Arabia

CR7 settled well in the Saudi Arabia, scoring 14 goals and providing two assists in 19 games in the 2022-23 Saudi Pro League. Al Nassr finished second in the league, leaving Ronaldo trophyless for two consecutive years.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has hit a rich vein of form in the current season. He helped Al Nassr lift the Arab Champions Club Cup by scoring a brace.
