Graham Potter’s team dominated the possession in the first half and opened the scoring through Joao Felix in the 16th minute after he volleyed his shot pass Fabianski. West Ham looked shaky in first half and were almost punished when Havertz found the net. However he was adjudged off side giving the home team sigh of relief.
The Hammers were back on level terms in the 28th minute through former Chelsea player Emerson who scored from a tight angle. In the second half Soucek looked to have won the game for hammers after turning in Rice’s saved shot, but it was disallowed as the Hammers captain was caught offside by VAR. Chelsea played some lovely football throughout the 90 minutes, however they lacked a cutting edge. Chelsea were denied penalty in the final moments of the match after VAR’s disallowed Soucek’s late handball.
