Patrick Kluivert had a golden opportunity from the penalty spot, but Real Madrid’s Contreras made a crucial save. In the penalty shootout, Barça held their nerve. Although Frank de Boer’s effort was saved, Angoy’s heroics in goal, denying Congo and Amavisca, ensured a 4-2 shootout victory for the Blaugrana.
